How To Change Your Windows Password
Every sixty days, Windows will prompt you to change your password upon login. This is crucial in terms of ensuring security within our infrastructure. That said, you can also change your password at any time as well. This is a good practice if you feel as though your information has been compromised.
This can be done very easily following the proceeding steps.
From your Windows desktop, click on Ctrl+Alt+Del simultaneously. You should see a screen that looks like the following:
Click on “Change Password.” You will now see the following screen:
Your default username should appear in the top text box. From here you will have to enter your old password and then your new password to follow. Finally, you will enter that new password again to confirm it. After doing so, click on the right arrow > or press “Enter.”
Your new password has now been saved and will be ready to use the next time you log into your PC.
